
Emilie Choi is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Coinbase Global, a publicly traded cryptocurrency exchange. She joined Coinbase in March 2018 as Vice President of Business, Data and International, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in June 2019, and became President in November 2020.
Before Coinbase, Choi served as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at LinkedIn (later a Microsoft subsidiary after its 2016 acquisition). Earlier leadership roles included corporate development, strategy, and operations at Warner Bros. Entertainment from August 2007 to December 2009, and corporate development and strategy at Yahoo! from 2003 to 2005. She began her career as a Senior Analyst in Investment Banking at Legg Mason Wood Walker from 2000 to 2003.
Choi holds a B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She has served on the boards of Okta since August 2022, ZipRecruiter from November 2018 to August 2022, and Naspers/Prosus from April 2017 to August 2021.
