Jonathan Halkyard is the Chief Financial Officer of MGM Resorts International, the global gaming, hospitality and entertainment company. He joined MGM Resorts in January 2021 and oversees all financial activities, including Investor Relations, Accounting, Treasury, Procurement and Tax.

Prior to MGM, Halkyard served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Extended Stay America, Inc. and ESH Hospitality. He held several senior roles at Extended Stay America, including Chief Operating Officer (2013), Interim CFO (2014), CFO (2015), and CEO (2017). Earlier, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NV Energy (2012–2013). Halkyard spent 13 years at Caesars Entertainment (formerly Harrah’s Entertainment) in various finance and operations roles, culminating as Chief Financial Officer from 2006. He led the $30 billion sale of Caesars to TPG and Apollo and drove $200 million in post-closing savings.

Halkyard holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. He is a Director of Shift4 Payments (NYSE: FOUR), Chairman of the Board of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and a member of the International Center for Responsible Gaming Advisory Council. He is an instrument-rated private pilot.
