Seminole Tribe of Florida

Marcellus Osceola Jr. is the elected chairman of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the federally recognized tribal government that owns Hard Rock International and operates Florida's largest casino network. He has led the tribe since his 2016 election, becoming the public face of tribal gaming during a period defined by the 2021 Florida Gaming Compact and the subsequent federal court challenge.

Osceola signed the 30-year compact with Governor Ron DeSantis on April 23, 2021. The agreement gave the tribe exclusive statewide online sports betting through a hub-and-spoke model, added craps and roulette at tribal casinos, and committed the tribe to minimum payments of $2.5 billion over the first five years and up to $6 billion over 30 years. The compact also triggered litigation by West Flagler Associates that reached the U.S. Supreme Court before the tribe could return to statewide mobile wagering.

After the compact survived the legal challenge, Osceola oversaw the December 7, 2023 relaunch of online sports betting across Florida through Hard Rock Bet. Under his chairmanship the tribe also continued expansion planning, including a reported multi-billion-dollar redevelopment of its flagship Hollywood, Florida casino resort.
