Vik Mahajan

Vik Mahajan has led River Cree Resort & Casino since 2013, when he joined as General Manager. Under his stewardship, the property – located on the Enoch Cree Nation near Edmonton – underwent significant transformation, including adoption of advanced casino management systems (Casino Cash Trac), a major hotel tower and water park expansion, and a renewed emphasis on indigenous cultural integration.

By 2021 he had been elevated to Chief Executive Officer, becoming the public face of Alberta’s largest indigenous-owned casino resort. Mahajan frequently addresses topics ranging from AI-driven scams targeting the casino to employment and economic development for First Nations communities, and he previously earned a 79% employee approval rating on Glassdoor.

Mahajan’s leadership style combines operational excellence with a commitment to showcasing indigenous heritage in every facet of the guest experience. His tenure has positioned River Cree as both a major employer in the region and a model for integrating cultural authenticity with modern gaming and hospitality.
