Corporate History and Identity

Bally's Corporation is the corporate successor to Twin River Worldwide Holdings, a Delaware-incorporated holding company formed in 2011 to own casino properties in Rhode Island. After an NYSE listing in 2019, the company bought the Bally's brand and Bally's Atlantic City from Caesars Entertainment in 2020 and renamed itself. The rebranding extended to its existing regional casinos, including Twin River Lincoln and Tiverton, giving the company a nationally recognisable casino name while preserving its Twin River operating heritage.

Online and iGaming Expansion

The more transformative chapter began with two acquisitions. Bally's purchased Bet.Works, a US sportsbook technology platform, and then agreed to buy Gamesys Group, a London-listed online casino and bingo operator; both deals closed in the 2021–2022 period. Gamesys brought UK-facing brands such as Jackpotjoy and Virgin Games and gave Bally's a regulated European iGaming footprint. These assets were combined under Bally's Interactive.

Digital Products

Bally's Interactive houses the company's online sports betting, casino, and social gaming operations. In regulated US states, Bally's offers Bally Bet, its mobile sportsbook, and Bally Casino, its online casino. The proprietary sportsbook stack is based on Bet.Works technology, while the Gamesys assets provide the international casino and bingo operations. The UK-facing portfolio includes Jackpotjoy and Virgin Games, both operated by Bally's under licensing arrangements inherited through Gamesys.

Land-Based Casinos

Bally's operates a broad portfolio of regional US casinos including Bally's Twin River Lincoln in Rhode Island, Bally's Tiverton, Bally's Atlantic City, Bally's Chicago, Bally's Dover in Delaware, and Bally's Quad Cities in Illinois. Additional properties in Nevada, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Colorado expand its geographic footprint. Each property is individually licensed by state gambling regulators.

Market Position

As a combined land-based and online operator, Bally's sits in a niche between big national casino groups and regional operators. Its strategy is to use local casino loyalty through Bally Rewards to cross-sell online sports betting and casino in states where it has a physical presence. The company's ownership of its core sportsbook platform distinguishes it from operators that simply license third-party technology.

Ownership and Leadership

Standard General, the investment firm run by Soo Kim, was Bally's largest shareholder during its public-market period and eventually took the company private in a deal completed around 2024. Soo Kim serves as Chairman of Bally's Corporation. Rob Reeves was appointed Chief Executive Officer after Lee Fenton stepped down, and Marcus Glover serves as Chief Financial Officer.
