BetMGM has launched Aristocrat Interactive's Lightning Link High Stakes slot on its Alberta iCasino platform, expanding its presence in the province's newly regulated market. The game, already live in several US states and Ontario, features progressive jackpots and hold & spin mechanics.

BetMGM has strengthened its iCasino content in Alberta with the introduction of Aristocrat Interactive’s Lightning Link High Stakes slot, arriving shortly after the province’s regulated online gambling market launched on 13 July. The move adds a well-known land-based franchise to the operator’s digital offering in the region.

“Very few slot franchises have achieved the staying power and player recognition of Lightning Link,” said Rob Passerino, BetMGM’s Director of Gaming. “Lightning Link High Stakes brings a casino-floor favorite into the digital experience for our Alberta players.” The game’s digital rollout in North America continues after more than a decade of presence on physical casino floors.

The slot includes multi-denomination play, cash-on-reels reels, a ‘big reel’ feature during free games, shared progressive jackpots, and a hold & spin mechanic. BetMGM already offers the title in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, with Alberta marking the latest state or province in its network.

Separately, BetMGM relaunched its Borgata Online platform in New Jersey in late June, featuring an “refreshed interface, streamlined navigation and ongoing feature parity” as part of what the company described as a “major platform evolution.” Borgata Online obtained New Jersey’s first internet gambling permit on 9 October 2013, and while tax records only go back to 2015, it has contributed $250m in state taxes. The site now offers approximately 4,000 iGaming titles, including 250 exclusives and live dealer options.
