Novibet has agreed a three-season main sponsorship with AEK Larnaca, while new data shows Cyprus betting GGR rose 22% year-on-year in Q4 2025.
iGaming operator Novibet has signed a three-season sponsorship agreement with Cypriot football side AEK Larnaca, taking on the role of the club’s main sponsor for the 2026 through 2029 seasons.
The partnership will involve joint initiatives aimed at boosting fan engagement and delivering community benefits. Under the deal, Novibet and AEK Larnaca will work with the club’s charitable arm, AEK C.A.R.E.S., and Novibet’s Giant Heart programme to back social projects and local outreach activities.
The sponsorship is part of Novibet’s broader strategy to forge long-term collaborations across sport, strengthening its brand visibility through multi-year commitments.
Cyprus market continues upward trajectory
The Cypriot betting industry showed consistent growth in late 2025, according to the latest data from the Cyprus National Betting Authority. In Q4 2025, betting operators reported a gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €395.5m ($451.8m), a rise of 22% compared with the same quarter a year earlier.
For the full year 2025, total GGR reached €1.32bn, an increase of 8% from the 2024 total.
Of the Q4 2025 figure, land-based operators generated €94.1m (up 9% year-on-year), while online operators contributed €301.5m (up 27%). Betting taxes and fees for the quarter amounted to €47.4m, a 4% rise from Q4 2024.
The number of licensed operators remained unchanged, with six land-based and 13 online operators active in the market. The count of land-based betting venues edged up 1% year-on-year to 467 premises nationwide. By district, Nicosia housed 163 venues, Limassol 135, Larnaca 84, Paphos 49 and Famagusta 36.
